The group "Out-of-Equilibrium Systems" focuses on addressing fundamental problems related to the analysis of dynamics in complex systems within various conceptual frameworks such as topology, statistical physics, and integrability. The interdisciplinary approaches undertaken by the group encompass the study of topological photonics and turbulence, observed in diverse systems including polaritons, optical fibers, water tanks, and electric lines. The primary emphasis of the research lies in experimental investigations, complemented by a significant theoretical activity that involves complex numerical simulations, particularly those based on the inverse scattering transform. The group is organized with a balance between individual research interests of each permanent member and the collaborations (inside and outside the group) on various projects by leveraging diverse experimental and theoretical skills in a synergistic manner. One weekly meeting allows a regular interaction between all permanents, postdocs, PhD and Master students involved in the group activities.
