Visit from a Group of High School Students
Vie du labo
For its second edition, the PhLAM Laboratory, in partnership with the Physics Department, LOA, and CERLA, welcomed a group of high school students from Laeken (Brussels) on the afternoon of Wednesday, April 2.
Around forty students had the opportunity to explore the fascinating world of scientific research.
The afternoon program included:
-
Plenary lecture – Clathrate Hydrates: From Green Chemistry to Astrophysical Applications, by Élodie GLOESENER
-
Presentation on the study of soot particles
-
Introduction to synchrotron radiation, by Éléonore ROUSSEL
-
Tour of the electronics workshop, a research support facility, presented by Hervé DAMART and Cédric CALIMET
-
Presentation on light-matter interaction for environmental and astrophysical research, by Claire PIRIM and Bertrand CHAZALLON
-
Closing plenary lecture – The Traveling Pendulum, by Philippe VERKERK
Stéphane BAILLEUX would like to extend his thanks to CERLA, LOA, the Physics Department, and all the scientific and technical staff whose dedication made it possible to offer the students and their chaperones an inspiring immersion into the heart of our research activities.
