The DYSCO team's activities are at the forefront of research on complex dynamic systems, encompassing a wide range of fundamental and interdisciplinary investigations, and combining experimental, computational and theoretical tools. Examples include combining optical and hydrodynamic methods to understand the emergent macroscopic dynamics of gases, studying nonlinear waves in arbitrary potentials, utilizing advanced numerical tools and innovative experimental platforms for precise control and manipulation, exploring many-body photon gases in quantum photonics, and merging topological photonics and lattice quantum electrodynamics to gain insights into complex quantum phenomena. Additionally, the team integrates machine learning algorithms and nonlinear dynamics tools to understand chaotic phenomena and extreme events. In Biophysics, they employ quantitative, biophotonic and modeling, approaches to unravel the complexities of living systems and to contribute to translational technologies.
