On 15 May, PhLAM took part in Melisciences at the Rouge Barre college in Marcq-en-Barœul.

On 15 May, PhLAM took part in Mélisciences, the CNRS science break, at the Rouge Barres college in Marcq-en-Barœul.

During the workshop, Yves Quiquempois and Monika Bouet, from the photonics team, explained how optical fibres work, from their creation to their everyday use. With the help of small workshops, they were able to show the schoolchildren how lasers work to transmit messages, images and sound.

The aim of these workshops was to raise pupils' awareness of science, give them a taste for research in a fun way and, why not, inspire future careers! These initiatives are fully in line with PhLAM's commitment to scientific outreach and the sharing of knowledge.
