Adam Rançon appointed junior member of the Institut Universitaire de France

Systèmes quantiques

We are very pleased to announce the appointment of Adam Rançon, Associate Professor of Physics at the laboratory, as a junior member of the Institut Universitaire de France (IUF).

A specialist in theoretical condensed matter physics, Adam investigates the fundamental properties of quantum matter, working in close collaboration with experiments on ultracold atomic gases.
His research focuses in particular on the thermodynamics of low-dimensional ultracold gases, out-of-equilibrium quantum systems, and quantum field theory, with recognized expertise in the use of the functional renormalization group.

His recent contributions include the study of the Anderson transition in 4D (in collaboration with experimental teams in Lille), critical fluctuations, universal probability distributions near critical points, and the Kosterlitz-Thouless transition in 2D Bose gases.

This prestigious distinction rewards the excellence and originality of his work and will provide a strengthened environment to further develop his research.

Congratulations to Adam on this well-deserved recognition!
