Photonics in the Lille metropolitan area

FOCUS on Fibertech Lille, the Photonics team of the PhLAM laboratory and the IEMN in Photonics, the journal of the Société Française d'Optique, on photonics in the Lille metropolitan area.
This article highlights some areas of research, know-how and remarkable tools, valuable for French research in photonics. Beyond their individual value, it is indeed their grouping together on the same site which gives an incomparable added value to the Lille site and which allows the emergence of new subjects at the border between different themes, different communities, in connection with the industrial tissue. This dynamic, which is clearly visible today, is reflected in the strong involvement of Lille photonics players in the PEPR and PIA4 programs, such as the programs around post-5G or the networks of the future.
