Lasers: Course and exercises corrected
Atomes froids Vie du labo Parutions
Authors:
This book presents as basic and educational as possible the foundations of laser physics. The first chapters approach the theory of lasers, in a progressive manner from the basic concepts (light amplification and modeling, theory of Gaussian beams, laser cavities) to semi-classical theory. They are followed by a description of the main lasers in common use and an introduction to non-linear optics. The book ends with an overview of the main applications using lasers. Each chapter offers two levels of reading: a basic text followed by supplements which detail certain points or which tackle more specialized questions, and ends with a series of exercises, the answers to which appear at the end of the book.
