SigmaCOM platform results from the pooling of the IEMN telecom platform created in 2006 and the optical communication platform (PhLAM/IEMN) linked to the FiberTech Lille central office of PhLAM created in 2004 to adapt to changes in communications systems. of today and tomorrow. SigmaCOM facilitates the pooling of resources, knowledge and allows the implementation of complex innovative systems from the design to the realization, testing and measurement of any microwave system, optics and telecommunications.
It is open to academic laboratories and manufacturers (Startup, PME, PMI).
The SigmaCOM platform, unique in Europe, thanks to its field of expertise and its fleet of cutting-edge equipment with a total value of around €6 million. It is structured in two areas of expertise:
• Optical and wireless communication pole (THz) for finding ever higher data rates.
• Communicating systems pole for connected objects, IoT and massive machine-to-machine communications (MMTC-Massive Machine Type Communication-).
These two poles address the major challenges of all advanced communications systems, including 5G. It is managed by a scientific and technical team of 4 people (two researchers, a research engineer and an assistantengineer). The mode of operation, the expertise of the staff and the equipment fleet makes it possible to respond to the problems of the academic and industrial world with full support for projects: from the feasibility study to the production of models (TRL 4) and operational prototype (TRL 7) with demonstration.
