HOW TO FIGHT IDEAS RECEIVED AND FALSE INFORMATION?

To answer this issue of the 2018 edition of the Fête de la Science, the members of the PhLAM laboratory Daniel Hennequin, Florent Réal, Saliya Coulibaly, François Rohart, Corentin Naveau, Carlos Mas-Arabi, Hassina Zeghlache and other colleagues from the department, have appropriated the theme of "The error" by animating fun workshops in a friendly setting. They have demonstrated in many situations that our senses deceive us, and even during more complex phenomena that contradict "common sense".

WHEN THE "GOOD SENS" IS WRONG !

It is obvious that an object can not be in two different places at the same time. And yet, the quantum mechanical experiments show us that it is possible! Our intuition can therefore mislead us. Even our senses can deceive us, as for example in optical illusions. Only the scientific approach, experimentation and measurement show that what we thought was "reasonable" is ultimately wrong.
